A NEW bus service between Tavistock and Plymouth was showcased at the weekend ahead of hitting the road this Saturday (October 5).

The four vehicles, which will make up the seven days a week service to be known as service 12, are a £1-million investment by Plymouth Citybus.

The double decker buses which feature leather seating, increased leg room, on-board free Wi-Fi and more designated space for buggies and wheelchairs, were showcased on the Piazza in Plymouth City Centre, an event attended by mayor of Tavistock Cllr Harry Smith.

Cllr Smith said: 'The service is sure to be really welcome in Tavistock, with its extra features making the journey between Tavistock and Plymouth even more enjoyable.

'It will be great for the town allowing the people of Plymouth to visit using the new service.'

The Citybus new 'BlueFlash' service will operate up to every 30 minutes and passengers will be able to buy a seven-day ticket for £15 or Dayrider tickets for £4.20.
