CALLINGTON Town have unveiled their new management team for the 2006/7 season. The Carlsberg South Western team will be managed by Geoff Battams who took over in the middle of last season and helped steer the club out of the bottom two re-election posts. The second team, who will compete in the new first division of the East Cornwall League will be under the stewardship of Paul Sanders and Adrian Rowe who have been promoted from last season?s third team. With Paul and Adrian?s new position, the third team has a new manager in the form of Dave Rider. Dave is no stranger to the club, having run a successful third team in the past and will be combining his duties there with the Colts U18 side. The team will compete in the Duchy League Division Two. The club does say goodbye to last year?s East Cornwall duo of Garfield Ewing and Tim May. Garfield and Tim have both given stirling service and will be sadly missed by all at Callington. However, the team?s failure to get into the top 14 of last year?s campaign, which would have given them a place in the new Premier Division, was one of the deciding factors in the Club Executive?s decision to change things. Training starts on Tuesday July 4 at 7pm at the Ginsters Marshfield Parc ground and will continue each Tuesday and Thursday following. Geoff, Paul, Adrian and Dave would welcome any player who would like to come along and join in the training. A list of the Pre-Season games will be announced shortly by the club.
