THREE new soldiers were enrolled into the Salvation Army in Tavistock at Easter — the first uniformed soldiers to be accepted by the town organisation in 14 years. The special service at the United Reformed Church on Easter Sunday was led by Lt Col Joan Williams, the present commanding officer of the Tavistock Corps of the Salvation Army. The army holds its services every Sunday evening at the church in Russell Street. Anyone who would like more information on the Tavistock corps should call 01822 617740.
