TAVISTOCK'S new carnival princess and attendants have been announced by the town's Lions Club. The carnival princess is Rebekah Hainsworth, 10, from Brentor, and her attendants are Emily Attfield, 9, and Millie Hames, 10, both from Tavistock. Judges for the competition were Lyn Roberts, Prim Skedgell and Amy Hookway from Lawsons of Tavistock, which jointly sponsored the competition with the Times. The judges and the Lions Club expressed thanks to the eleven young girls who took part in the competition. The official crowning of Rebekah will take place at Fun Day in the Meadows on Sunday, July 13. She will then lead the carnival parade the following Saturday when the theme will be 'Hollywood to Bollywood'.
