THE new minibus for use by Tavistock Area Support Services was officially accepted on behalf of the charity by West Devon mayor Dennis Bater. The replacement bus was delivered by Paul Barber, of GM Coachworks Newton Abbot, and has already been put through its paces, having brought people in for the Friday tea dance last week and taken a group onto Dartmoor over the weekend. The project to provide a new minibus was a joint co-operation between Devon County, Tavistock Town and West Devon Borough Councils. Andy Lyle, manager of TASS, said: 'This is once again a good example of the councils working together to benefit local people, and the minibus will help alleviate isolation for older people within our area, giving them hope for a brighter tomorrow.' If you want to know how TASS can help you or if you could spare a few hours as a volunteer driver, please contact Andy on 01822 616958.
