A NEW magazine promoting Tavistock Pannier Market and its traders was launched at the market last Friday.
Among those to attend the launch were new Tavistock mayor Cllr Paul Ward, market reeve Duane Carruthers, the main driving forces behind the magazine Sarah Scott and Brett Kinsman-Daw and market traders and supporters.
Cllr Ward said: ‘The pannier market is the jewel in Tavistock’s crown. In a time that markets are going, like Hatherleigh, this makes us really unique.’
The intention is to distribute the magazine to tourist information centres and outlets across the wider area in an effort to bring people into the newly refurbished pannier market.
The market has undergone significant restoration and refurbishment work over the last six months, including roof repairs, replacing heavy wooden doors with light glass doors, refurbished toilets, new internal lighting and a new heating system.
