YELVERTON’S new litter-picking group ‘Yel-Lit’ will be setting out on its first expedition this Sunday (April 28).

The group intends to clear rubbish on Harrowbeer Airfield, around the shops and along the A386. Full support will be provided by Tavistock group Tidy Tavi, including advice and the loan of equipment.

It is hoped that plenty of volunteers will turn out from the surrounding area to give this new group a boost to start and maintain clean-up work in an area that gets more than its fair share of litter.

Anyone who would like to help out is invited to meet on the old airfield at the eastern-most aircraft dispersal bay nearest the roundabout at 10am.

The work will continue until noon, but there is no need to stay for the full two hours if you need to be elsewhere.

Tidy Tavi’s next expedition will be on the first Sunday of next month — May 4.
