LAST season ended on a high for North Tawton Rugby Club with an enjoyable President's day and the end-of-season dinner-dance.

The annual meeting, though not well attended, brought some fresh ideas, namely the formation of a ladies' side and the possibility of restarting North Tawton Cricket at the rugby club.

Treasurer Kerry Skinner said that despite recent problems because of foot and mouth the club was on a sound financial footing and looked forward to the new season.

With this in mind Pete Hoggins announced that training and coaching will start on Tuesday July 16 at 7pm and from then on every Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm.

There is a new line up in the coaching with Rod Stoddart in charge, assisted by Danny North and Pete Hoggins — so come on down and give it a try! Old and new players are assured of a warm welcome.

The successful Mini Rugby coaching moves to Sundays at 10am, starting Sunday September 8. Again all are welcome.

North Tawton's first match is a friendly at home to Buckfastleigh on Saturday September 7 , kick off 3pm.
