FINISHING touches have been made to four new family houses being opened by West Devon Homes.
The four new houses have been developed at Drewsteignton and families are now settling into their properties.
The occasion marks the completion of West Devon Homes' 300th new home since being set up in 1999.
The new houses, built by Coyde Construction, have been fitted with eco-friendly features to help reduce the running costs, including air source heat pumps, photovoltaic cells and water catchments units.
The development was paid for partly through funding from the Homes and Communities Agency. But the rules for applying for this type of funding have recently changed, along with a reduction in finance available to the company. This means that for a couple of years at least, West Devon Homes is unlikely to build any more new homes like this.
