ADAM Hart-Davis has been announced as the new president of the Tavistock Music and Arts Festival. The historian and well known BBC presenter will take over from opera singer Sarah Walker, to oversee the popular festival into its tenth anniversary year.
The showcase includes a wide range of arts, dance, film and music acts which takes place in various locations around Tavistock town centre.
Festival chairman Christopher Kirwin said: 'We are very excited to appoint Adam Hart-Davis as our new president and know that his involvement in our tenth anniversary festival will help this year's event appeal to an even wider audience.
'The festival unites the town over the two weeks and hosts many interactive events which bring families and friends together to share an appreciation of music and art.
'We have a lot in store for 2013 to ensure the acts cater for all age ranges and musical tastes. Alongside the annual heritage walks, the festival will host a jazz supper, creative writing workshops and roof-raising performances from the ever-popular Mad Dog Mcrea.
'Our line-up is growing every day so we know that this tenth anniversary festival is on track to being a great success. We hope many people will come to Tavistock to see an old favourite or maybe add to their musical and artistic experiences by trying something new.'
The Tavistock Music and Arts Festival is set to run from April 19 to May 6, and tickets will be available from early February. To book tickets for an event or get further information, please contact The Wharf box office on 01822 611166 or email [email protected]">[email protected]
