BISHOP Tim, the new Bishop of Truro, made his first visit to Callington earlier this month, for a confirmation ceremony.

Janice, Larissa and Dale Teobald, Kirsty Farr and Richard and Charles Crago were confirmed by the bishop on October 4.

From the start of the service it was apparent that although the confirmation was a serious commitment, there was going to be an element of fun in the proceedings as well.

Involving the candidates with his sermon, Bishop Tim soon had the church echoing to the sound of laughter.

And the serious part of the service, the baptism of Dale and Larissa, and the actual confirmation of all six candidates held an element of particular joy.

After the service a splendid faith supper was held — tribute was paid to all who provided the food, not forgetting the ladies in the kitchen.

As his last duty of the evening Bishop Tim cut a delicious cake, made and iced by Peter Whitting, that was enjoyed by all. The church community at Callington look forward to welcoming Bishop Tim to the town again in future.
