A NEW gate for Dolvin Road Cemetery in Tavistock is to be installed, at a cost of £350.
Councillors agreed to sanction the cost of the gate this week, after hearing the new gate would create safer access to the cemetery for residents and council works staff.
The idea of providing a further gate was brought up at this year's annual town meeting in March, when a resident complained at the lack of footpath outside the present entrance.
The new wooden gate, which will match the gate onto the riverside grassed area on the other side of Dolvin Road, will be installed as soon as the council works staff have time in their schedule.
