SWIMMERS inspired by the dramatic events at the London 2012 Olympics will find

the water

at Tavistock's Meadowlands Leisure Pool even more inviting in future.

Four new boilers are being installed at the pool to replace the old system, parts of which are almost 25 years old.

The old mains gas supply pipe, serving the boilers, is also being replaced.

The investment means the pool will be in great shape to cope with the increasing numbers of people expected to take up swimming following the Olympics.

Disruption while the boiler replacement work is carried out will be kept to a minimum and engineers are not expecting the pool to close at any time.

The new boilers are efficient and fully condensing, with ultra low emissions.

Work started on Monday July 30 and is due to finish on Friday August 24.

Meadowlands Leisure Pool is owned by West Devon Borough Council and operated by its contractor, Leisure Connection.
