MILTON Combe Village Hall has received a welcome boost thanks to Devon County Councillor Philip Sanders.

Cllr Sanders, who is the council's local member for Yelverton Rural, has given the village hall committee a grant for almost £500 to buy new blinds to help with the hall's upgrade.

He said: 'The great thing about having my locality budget funding is that it means I can help those communities who help themselves when they need just a little bit of funding.  The Village Hall in Milton Combe is such a well-used and valued community asset that it's good to be able to offer some support.'

Val Bolitho, village hall committee member said: 'Having the blinds just makes the hall all the more appealing to all our local groups to use and hire. '

Cllr Sanders has supported a wide range of projects using his locality budget, including the Weir Quay Water Sports Hub, providing grit bins for a number of parishes and the RAF Harrowbeer's 70th anniversary celebrations.
