TAVISTOCK?S county representative this week welcomed news that information and advice agencies in Devon have joined together to launch a new consumer advice network. The service will be called the Devon Consumer Support Network (CSN) and will offer people across the county one easy route to expert, accurate advice. Cllr Roy Connelly, Devon County Council?s executive member for communities and safety said: ?Through working together, we can ensure that people can get clear and practical advice when they need it. ?It also means that Devon advice agencies can work more effectively together to identify and meet areas of greatest need. ?The CSN logo will be a clear sign that the agency displaying it can help consumers get the advice they need. If, for some reason, one CSN member cannot help, it will refer people to another member that can.? The partnership involves a wide range of agencies, including Devon County Council Trading Standards, the Citizens? Advice Bureaux, Age Concern, Energywatch, Consumer Council for Water, Consumer Direct South West, solicitors and libraries. The Devon CSN follows a successful pilot project in the South Hams and will build on its achievements, including joint training for advisors and the distribution of 4000 ?Think Twice? consumer advice leaflets targeted at the elderly.
