BERE Ferrers' 62nd spring flower show had the wow factor, it was bursting with hundreds of scented blooms which greeted visitors.
Exhibitors rose to the challenge and overcame appalling weather, the worst in the Tamar Valley for 30 years, yet produced the best entry for 20 years with 501 exhibitions - mostly early varieties.
There was a special display of traditional varieties of Tamar Valley Narcissi, 15 varieties had been gathered and ranged from the pre-1620 Van Sion, through to mainstays such as Sir Watkin pre 1884, Bath's Flame 1913, and n.pseudo narcissusn nobilis - the single Lent Lily.
This display, which attracted a great deal of interest was co-ordinated by Frances Howard.
The photography was of a high standard, and entries in the new sugarcraft section were exquisite.
