MOORLAND Guides are hosting a day of practical navigation for all abilities on Monday (October 7) from 10am to 4pm.

There is no set syllabus, guides will see what participants' skills are and build on them. The total distance of the walking will not be huge, around five to six miles, however the terrain will be quite varied.

Starting at Combestone Tor car park, participants should bring an OS OL 28 laminated map and a type 4 Silva compass if they have one, as well as food, drink waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear.
