I AM involved in a voluntary research project with the German War Graves Commission, the VDK, and I would like to ask your readership?s help with a 60-year-old mystery.

According to the burial register for Efford Cemetery, Plymouth, on the 10th of August 1942, three German airmen were found dead at Lamerton, and buried the next day in Efford Cemetery. But apart from this entry in the burial register no mention can be found, so far, in civilian or military records about this incident.

If it is possible to find enough information on who these men may have been, it could lead to having their graves named, at last. They are now buried in an un-named grave at Cannock Chase German Military Cemetery.

Thank you.
