A TAVISTOCK musician will have one of his compositions performed at a concert in Plymouth next month. Jaemus Downing is a performer and music teacher and plays at Two Bridges and Bovey Castle Hotel. He has been composing for more than 30 years, and the piece in question is one of his more recent ? a duet for four hands. Entitled ?The End of the First Half Rag?, it was written as a lively piece to be performed, appropriately, at the end of the first half of a concert, and comes from his publication ?3 Rags for 4 Hands?. The other rags in the book are ?The Duke of Cornwall Rag? and ?Rag for Ste? ? the latter written for his son. The concert of piano duets will be performed by well known musicians Philip Buttall and Clive Jenkins at Plymouth Museum at 1pm on Thursday December 8. The concert is called ?Musical panache ? a lighter concert with a touch of tinsel?. Tickets, price £5, are available on 01752 304774.
