THE Market Inn in?Tavistock recently played host to a charity music night to raise funds for the Eve Appeal.
Thirteen bands from across the south west played to a delighted crowd, and later in the evening a grand draw was held.
Organiser Reise Adair said, 'I was overwhelmed by the support we had for the event and would like to thank everyone for their generosity, including the musicians who waived their fees to play on the night and all the local businesses who donated prizes.'
Thanks also went to Poppy Clark, the bands' organiser, and Sally Perkins for the use of her premises. Louis Ormston was MC for the evening, and Jane Adair took charge of the draw, which raised £776.55. The Co-operative also boosted the total, by pledging to donate £50 each month for the next year.
Every year 18,000 women are diagnosed with gynaecological cancer, and the Eve Appeal was set up to support them. For more information visit http://www.eveappeal.org.uk">www.eveappeal.org.uk
