TAVISTOCK Royal British Legion social club is holding a special fundraising day in aid of Help for Heroes on Saturday April 18.

The event will run for 12 hours from 11am at Legion House in King Street with live entertainment at lunchtime and in the evening, together with table top sales, auctions, a raffle and various sponsored events.

The charity Help for Heroes was launched in October 2007 in response to people's desire to do something practical to help wounded servicemen and women.

The day starts with the table top sale at 11am, followed by a singalong in the club bar with Chalkies Accordion Show Case at 1pm and entertainment with Allanah at 2pm.

Donated goods will be auctioned at 3pm, and as a complete contrast there will be a sponsored facial hair removal at 5pm.

From 5pm there will also be an evening of entertainment in the function room, including a performance by Shoot the Crow at 8.30pm and a giant raffle at 10pm.
