OCTOBER 8:Division 2 — Westcon 39, CND 6. Nominated players, N Phillips, J Shadrick, Hannah Moir.
Take 7 9, Smashing Pumpkins 27; Take 7 played in this energetic match brilliantly together as a team and fought hard throughout. However, Smashing Pumpkins showed their experience to win the game.
October 15: Division 1 — Plymouth Allsorts 20, Designer Heaven.com 31
Designer Heaven.com, playing without their regular goal-shooter Sue Speakman, battled hard to beat Plymouth Allsorts.
The unusual combination of Jane Whalley and Karen Williams in the shooting roles proved a good choice with centre Katy Bruce and wing attack Nikki Blamey providing some excellent passes into the circle.
Designer Heaven.com's defence, which consisted of Sarah Glinn, Jodie Smith and Rachel Paine made some excellent interceptions and prevented Allsorts getting too many passes into their shooters, J Kulek and T Turner.
Tournament match — Delaware Dodgers 55, Cornish New Deal 1.
In this 'Generation Game' two mothers, Rosie Fierek and Julie Edwards were playing against their three daughters, Kate, Rebecca and Hayley, who play for CND.
Delaware's experience beat the youth of CND.
Later, mum Julie Edwards said: 'Rosie and I are our daughters' and CND's best supporters, so it was very difficult not to keep cheering them on and supporting them, however, netball is a very competitive sport and despite all circumstances you have to play to win.'
Because CND did not give up until the end Delaware Dodgers nominated their whole team as players of the match. C Guilfox was nominated as Delaware's best player.
l WWA netball team would like to say a big 'Get better soon' to their goal keeper Bev Venn who fractured her ankle during a match in Okehampton recently. Lots of love from Sarah, Karen, Jodie, Anne Marie, Sarah, Beth and Katy!
