THE people and industrial heritage of the Tamar Valley are being celebrated in a unique multi-media show next month.

The event, at the Wesley Methodist Church, Saltash on April 5 will premiere a new film by well-know local film maker Graeme Spink, ?Tamar Valley, Reflections in Time?.

The film looks at the amazing mining history of the Tamar. It also looks at the social life then and now ? bringing the story right up to date with a river trip on a beautiful summer evening complete with jazz band playing, and a train trip along the scenic line to Gunnislake.

Popular singer Tricia Moore will sing folk songs and Marina Dewing will read from her new book of stories and poems ?Spirit of the Tamar?.

On view during the evening will be an exhibition of paintings ? many with a Tamar theme ? by artist Alex MacKenzie. Calstock potter Ann Marie Hopkins will be displaying examples of her work. Many pieces have been influenced by the valley and show both the strength and sensitivity of this unique landscape.

The evening is presented in association with the Sue Hooper Charitable Foundation which is founded to promote the performing arts.
