WHITCHURCH Wayfarers Cricket Club held their annual meeting at the village hall. There was a good turnout of players and other members. which is encouraging for the 2010 season.

The committee required fresh blood as many serving members were standing down.

Thanks where expressed to all of those standing down for the years of sterling work that they have contributed to the club.

Only three of the 2009 committee stood for re-election. The club are therefore pleased that many new faces have agreed to take on the roles involved in running the club.

Chairman Neil Tamblin said: 'With the injection of fresh faces, the club now has a great opportunity to move forward and develop over the coming years. New people bring new ideas which we are ready to implement.'

The club welcomes Mhairi Mccall, John Emptage, Mark Trevethan, Joe Trembath and Jayne Rushton onto the committee for the first time and welcomes back Gavin Hall after a three year break.

Nets for colts and seniors will start in the new year. Anyone interested in joining the club should contact [email protected]">[email protected] or call 610960.
