TAVISTOCK Swimming Club members, parents and coaches celebrated their achievements of 2011 at its annual presentation evening which was held at Tavistock Rugby Club. The large number of people present saw the swimmers being presented with their medals achieved at the club championships and a number of club trophies as follows:

Long distance: girls' 14/U: Emily Attfield; boys' 14/U Kieran Rookes; girls' 15 and over Kirsty Best and Kathryn Stacey; boys' 15 and over Gareth Williams; 400m freestyle Kathryn Stacey and Matt Edwards.

Short distance: girls' 8/U Ameila Watson;10/U Sarah Teague; boys' 10/U Sam Bates; girls' 12/U Jessamy Clemens and Bethany Thompson; boys' 12/U Luke Stephens; girls 14/U Emily Attfield; boys' 14/U Kieran Rookes; girls' 16/U Holly Gibbs; boys' 16/U Cameron McGurk; girls' 17/O Kirsty Best and Kathryn Stacey; boys' 17/O Matt Edwards, Opens: girls Kathryn Stacey and Kirsty Best; boys Matt Edwards.

Trophies awarded by the coaches included: best junior club swimmer Amber Francis; best senior club swimmer Abigail Best; best junior girl Emily Attfield; best junior boy James Anderson; most improved junior swimmer Gavin Ball; most improved senior swimmer Nathaniel Rookes; open water Gareth Williams and Kathryn Stacey; best in training Sarah Teague; best squad swimmer Matt Edwards; best relay team men's open – Michael Best, Matt Edwards, Cameron McGurk, Kieran Rookes, Nathaniel Rookes, and Gareth Williams; best overall swimmer Kieran Rookes; most worthy swimmer Kirsty Best and Gareth Williams; swimmers' own choice: (girl) Kirsty Best; (boy) Matt Edwards; coaches' choice: Chloe Marks.
