A PLAQUE dedicated to the fundraising efforts of Tavistock Community Hospital?s League of Friends was unveiled last Friday by West Devon and Torridge MP Geoffrey Cox. The league of friends, which has supported the hospital?s activities for almost 60 years, recently raised more than £54,000. The money was for the refurbishment of a surgical unit which will provide an improved service to the residents of Tavistock and the surrounding area. The friends also plan to fund a quiet area and occupational therapy room to enhance the service of the hospital. Mr Cox said: ?Our community hospital is vital to the well being of the town, and we are fortunate indeed to have so active and successful a league of friends.?
