WEST Devon and Torridge MP John Burnett will visit post offices in Tavistock and Okehampton on December 22 as part of his Royal Mail Christmas tour.
Postal staff will welcome Mr Burnett, his wife Billie and Liberal Democrat prospective parliamentary candidate David Walter in the early hours as the Yuletide post is sorted and delivered.
They will also visit post offices in Bideford, Torrington and Holsworthy during the tour which started on Saturday, December 13.
The visitors will chat with staff and hear about Royal Mail operations at the organisation's busiest time of the year.
The level of mail handled in the Plymouth postcode area in the four weeks leading up to Christmas Eve, is expected to be 41.7 million cards, letters and parcels, and in the Exeter and Torquay postcode areas, the figure is 43.7 million.
Royal Mail area manager Graham Jones said: 'These festive season visits to our offices are very well received by postal staff.
'At this time of year, we handle twice as much mail compared to our usual postbag and our guests' interest and support mean a lot to us.'
