WEST Devon and Torridge MP Geoffrey Cox has expressed his support for Exeter's Northcott Theatre and has written to the Arts Council South West urging it to reconsider the proposed withdrawal of funding. Mr Cox said the theatre is a 'significant cultural resource' for the communities of West Devon and Torridge as well as giving local schoolchildren the opportunity to get involved in theatre and drama. It is likely the theatre will be forced to close if the funding is eventually withdrawn.
