HAND-MADE decorations and gifts were on offer at Bere Alston Parish Hall for the Christmas coffee morning organised by the Friends of Bere Alston surgery. Among those present were John Burnett MP and West Devon mayor Christine Grills. ?Community spirit is very much alive in Bere Alston. This annual fundraising coffee morning raises large sums of money for much needed equipment at the doctor?s? surgery,? said Mr Burnett. ?Residents of Bere appreciate the fact that the money they raise at this event stays in the community and benefits everyone. ?I understand that over the years nearly £70,000 has been raised, which is a phenomenal effort. I pay tribute to everyone involved.?
