The Mount House first seven had a difficult afternoon at the Downs School Sevens Tournament, made even more so by an injury to their captain Michael Cousens in the first match. A good win over Queen Elizabeth's Hospital School, Bristol, was not sufficient to see the side progress from the group stages to the main com-petition. However, the boys were not disheartened and did the next best thing by winning the Plate competition. Having progressed through the rounds, Mount House met Danes Hill School from Surrey in the plate final. Rhys Davies capped an excellent game by scoring 12 points in an exciting match that Mount House won 17-12 after extra time. l Pictured are the Mount House first sevens squad: Michael Cousens (capt), Ed Mann, Henry Salmon, James Mann, Ollie Sale, Rhys Davies, Alex Zervudachi, Freddie Jayarajah, Elliot Woodhead, Tristan Searight.
