THE rugby squads at Mount House have been in action again, with the Colts C coming away from PlymouthCollege with a fine 15 - 5 victory, and the U9s acquitting themselves well at the Stover Prep Schools' U9s Festival. The Mount House Colts were evenly matched against Plymouth College and it took a determined team effort to win the match. Following a closely-fought first half, Mount House led 10 points to nil, but early in the second period Plymouth College hit back with a try to make it 10 - 5. However the Mount House side stayed positive and managed to score the next try that sealed the victory. Pick of the Mount House forwards was Edward Prysor-Jones, and in the backs, Sam Choroszewski's superb tackling prevented two or three almost certain tries. At the Stover Festival, the Mount House U9s improved through the tournament. Having lost their first match against the hosts, Mount House drew the next with a strong St Michael's side, then won comprehensively over Trinity by 30 points to 5, with tries from William Paull (2), Billy Lambeth (2), Jeremy Steed and Giles Malcolm. Their final match against Wellington School was a very close affair, with neither side able to break the deadlock until a late charge against spirited Mount House defence saw Wellington emerge as winners by a single try to nil. The Mount House squad performed extremely well and are looking forward to improving further in the next tournament at St Michael's School
