A MASSIVE £1,710 has been raised for St Luke’s Hospice from a motorbike ride from Tavistock to John O’ Groats and back again.
Damon Hicks, from Tavistock, successfully achieved the challenge in five days in memory of his sister Keryn Pope (nee Hicks) who died from breast cancer.
The St Luke’s team members cared for Keryn at her home for the last few days before she died and the family said they were ‘amazing’ and ‘a great support’ to them.
Damon and his sister Liane Williams have expressed thanks to everyone for their kind support and for the generous donations from family and friends. They would also like to thank local businesses for sponsoring the trip without whom it would not have been possible: Formerly Vaughans Hair and Beauty, La Cache clothing, Towls of Tavistock, Jed Bolt Carpentry and General Builder, Charles Gray Kitchens, Bryants of Tavistock, Abbey Mead Dentists, Howell’s Butchers of Tavistock, Mainly Stationery and J Sanders and Son, scrap metal dealers.
