I WHOLEheartedly agree with Hilary Charleston's letter (November 25) regarding the pronunciation of Morwell-HAM and I Cringe each time I hear Mor- wellum.

Eighteen months ago I stood behind one of the experts when the BBC filmed the Antiques Roadshow there. He finished his piece to camera and was immediately told to do a retake because he had said Mor-wellum. When he asked those around him how it should be said, we put him right and it was 'in the can'.

So imagine how I felt when it went on air and the presenter, Fiona Bruce, told all the viewers that the programme was coming from Mor-wellum.

Morwell-HAM it has always been and Morwell-HAM it will always be.
