TAMAR Energy Community (TEC) and Transition Tavistock’s annual energy fair was deemed a great success with over 100 visitors.

Held in the Local Matters community space, visitors had a chance to find out more about reducing their energy costs and their bills, learning more about energy efficient renovations and new builds and opportunities for generating their own heat and power.

The event was also a celebration of TEC’s community solar project. TEC has worked with its members to install solar panels on five sites across the area.

The project enables the host sites to buy solar generated power at a reduced price, saving money and retaining more value within the local economy.

The installations provide a valuable educational tool and the community which helps fund the project receives a fair return for its investment.
