IF you fancy a challenge and want to help raise some money for a much needed cause, come along to Dartmoor Search and Rescue's Charity walk to experience the breathtaking Devonshire countryside over varied terrain, covering 10 of the moorland's tors.

The walk will take place on October 20, helping the Search and Rescue team, which currently operates out of a small garage to raise vital funding for a building to store equipment and provide training facilities for the volunteers.

The team covers much more than the Dartmoor area, with searches taking place anywhere from Padstow to Torquay.

Assisting the police, the volunteers cover 1000 man hours annually and provide assistance to broken bones, the elderly and those with mental health conditions missing from their homes.
