THE Moor Memories group supporting older people in Okehampton makes a return to the town library today (Thursday).
The group, run by Time for Life in partnership with the library, invites people over 50 to listen to memories from the Dartmoor National Park oral history project that recorded stories of everyday life on the moor during the 20th century.
The group started in June, and the Dartmoor National Park handed over copies of recordings to the library for use in the sessions in August.
Each session provides the chance to listen to the recorded stories, and time to share personal memories of living in the area.
The group meets on the first Thursday of every month for two hours from 2pm.
Time for Life is a community mentoring service for the over 50s, and also sets up groups and activities wherever there seems to be a need.
