A FAMILY from Lamerton are over the moon that their beloved pet cat has come home after seven months.
Fly, affectionally known as Mr Boof, casually sauntered back into the Bradford's family home on January 20 much to their amazement.
Mary Bradford said: 'Our cat Mr Boof had been missing since June last year and to my complete surprise he sauntered back through the cat flap on Tuesday at 7am.'
The family adopted Mr Boof, Mr Stinky and Smeg (Fly, Mog and Meg), all from the same litter, from Margaret Green Animal Rescue's Wingletang Centre near Brentor, two years ago.
All three are outdoor cats with Mr Boof only ever enjoying an adventure for no more than two days.
Mary said: 'It is completely amazing and I can not express how happy we are to have him home. It's so sweet, Mr Stinky and Mr Boof have been playing endlessly — they are so pleased to see each other.'
Mary also expressed her extreme gratitude to the people who have probably been looking after Mr Boof during those seven months: 'As I was enjoying Mr Boof's company on Tuesday evening my thoughts turned to the family that he has more than likely been living with in his absence from us.
'I am sure they are feeling every bit as anxious as to his well being as we were when he vanished but I would like them to rest assured that he has simply come home.
'I would like to say a big thank you for obviously looking after him as well as they have. He has come home every bit as healthy and well fed as he was when he left.
'I would kindly request that should he turn up wanting food again they politely refuse and send him on his way home or take him to the vets where they scan his microchip and we can collect him.'
