Then some good play at the back from Mingo to John, Paul and George on the wing gave Jeffrey's a strike on goal which he blasted past the keeper from a right angle, bringing the score to 2-1.

With Rundell finding himself in the opposition's D for the first time this season, helped to put more pressure on the home side, but after conceding a short corner Tavistock found themselves 3-1 down.

Tavistock struggled to narrow the gap after injuries to Daniels and Marchent.

Tavistock 4

Minehead 2

TAVISTOCK found their feet in this tough league.

Great teamwork created a goal inside ten minutes from a hard ball from Jeffrey's to Jake Doney, who deflected it in the goal.

After a tough 20 minutes battling backwards and forth Tavy won a short corner from Cowen- D'Arcy injecting to Jeffrey's, who passed it between Cris, Damien, Luke and finally to Holland, who slotted behind the defence to get the second.

Half time blew with Mingo keeping a clean sheet.

Tavistock started the second half rather eagerly, leaving gaps in the defence, giving Minehead an opportunity to score before Jeffreys found the back of the net. With time drifting away Jeffreys nailed another goal to make it 4-2, for three points and their first win.

Tavistock A 4

Plymouth University A 5

Tavistock aimed to give second place Plymouth Uni A a tough match on Saturday and they did so with conviction.

Plymouth grabbed a goal through pushing men forward. Tavistock didn't lose their heads and continued to play some good hockey. Chances came about through good moving off the ball from Tavistock's Ross, Will and Nick. Just before the break Plymouth managed to get another through a counter attack, leaving Tavistock 2-0 down.

At half time it was clear that the home side was still in the game. From the off Tavistock attacked and won themselves a goal back through Nick Andrews. Plymouth did not sit back however, they pressed, gaining themselves another two goals in quick succession to make it 4-1,

However, the home side weren't going to give up that easily. Tavistock mounted good counter attacks launched from the defence and pushed on by the midfield. This led to Tavistock's second goal scored by Phil Edwards on the edge of the D. Tavistock seemed to be back in the game but University scored from close range to gave them a three goal cushion. With ten minutes left Nick Andrews got his second for Tavistock leaving the score at 5-3.

The away side earned themselves a few short corners and attacked consistently but the defence and saves from keeper Neil managed to keep Tavistock in the game.

Through spreading the ball wide to the wingers, Tavistock opened up the play, making a goal inevitable - it came from Damian, who struck the ball decisively past the keeper.

Now Tavistock were desperate to earn a point from the game. Pressure was placed upon a once complacent Plymouth side. The away side had everything thrown at them; shots came in numbers, resulting in Tavistock hitting the post.

5-4 it ended but the mood at Kelly was one of positivity. Tavistock ended up giving Plymouth a close game that could have easily ended as a draw by the end.

Plymouth Marjons D 2

Tavistock B 2

Tavistock came into the game having lost the last couple of matches despite playing some good hockey.

The young Marjons team were first to most of the loose balls and the Tavistock team were overrun for the first 20 or 30 minutes. Despite the possession that Marjons were enjoying they were not creating any clear goalscoring opportunities. Cowen, Tosdevin and Glanville in the Tavistock defence were dealing with everything that was being asked of them until a snap shot from the edge of the D caught everyone out and Osbourne could only palm the ball into the air but it had enough power to carry it into the goal over Tosdevin's head.

Tavistock lifted their game after the goal but despite having a couple of half chances couldn't bring the game to parity.

The second half started much as the first with Marjon taking the field fired up and it was soon 2-0 to Marjons following a scramble in the Tavistock goalmouth. A third goal looked to have been scored by Marjon's and was ruled out by the umpire for a foul. This ignited Tavistock and Curno and Wheatley in the middle of the park and they caused Marjon all kinds of problems.

A wonderful piece of skill from Reynolds in the Marjons D resulted in Tavistock's first goal — pulling the ball back from the keeper and smashing it home. With only 10 minutes left Curno received the ball from Wheatly and drove into the Marjons D slipping the ball through to Josh Reynolds who swept the ball home for the equaliser. Tavistock had chances to win the game and finished the stronger team.
