Plymstock U15s 10
Tavistock U15s 5
TAVISTOCK enjoyed possession and pressure for much of the game. Lack of care and incorrect decision making at crucial moments cost Tavistock dearly — most significantly in the second half when Tavistock was camped in Plymstock's half.
However this did not stop Plymstock adding a second try, scored by Sam Procter to add to the first half try scored by Plymstock's Jacob Keat.
Both tries coming from poor mistakes at the base of rucks putting Tavistock's defence under tremendous pressure.
Tavistock's try scored by Christopher Swash was altogether different, as it was scored through the teams endeavours, not mistakes made by the opposition.
At times Tavistock ran the ball superbly, running Plymstock's backs ragged. The final phase/pass, agonisingly, would, just not come. Tavistock's team effort, skill levels and decision making will definitely will be discussed at training on Thursday.
Bideford U11s 30
Okehampton U11s 15
BIDEFORD proceeded to dominate play throughout the first half to score four tries to lead 20-0 at half time.
The young Okes looked lethargic and without the excellent tackling and determination of Daniel Thorne, Liam Pyle and Patrick Beacom it could have been a cricket score.
A wake call from the coaches seemed to work as the Okes came out fighting from the kick off with Daniel Thorne chasing up his own kick, retrieving the ball and driving over for the first try. With the Okes now competing in all areas of the pitch Bideford came back with two further tries to lead 30-5.
Okes showed good spirit and refused to lie down and came back to score two further tries through Joe Mawle and Liam Pyle to reduce the deficit to 30-15.
Liam Pyle finished the game with an excellent run and thought he had scored his second try only to be denied by his father Andy Pyle, who ruled he had used a hand off.
* OKEHAMPTON's U7s evened the score against Bideford last Sunday by winning two games to one.
Despite weather conditions there was some good ball handling, some very quick tries including some fast tagging which stopped Bideford winning. Tries were scored by Ben Wharton, Tom Chapman and Daniel Wonnacott. Excellent passing by Indie Horn, Zak Pellow, Jay Jenkins, James Hockridge, James Fishleigh and Mathew Denning.
