THE match started with a lucky goal by Trophyman early in the first half.

Thistles defence, Pat Warlow, Chris Hutchins, David Gibbins, and Ben James, kept the top of the league team from being any real danger. Trophyman?s frustration showed when Tom Reed equalised with a great header from a corner taken by Luke Stephenson.

A fantastic run from Martin Perkins, supported by Reece Williams late in the first half almost put the Thistles into the lead.

Thistles kept the pressure up as the second half kicked off. An attempt on goal by Luke Stephenson further demoralised Trophyman and great teamwork by midfield, Mat Roberts and Rob Leeson helped keep the score even.

Outstanding goalkeeping by Rob Milligan meant Trophyman?s forwards were never a threat and Thistles went home knowing they were the first team in the league not to have lost against the top team.

LIPSON have the best form, in the league, having lost only two points all season.

Thistles, without three key players, took the game to Lipson with both teams playing attractive football. Michael Fowler, the Thistles? keeper, was soon in action cutting out a series of through-balls from the Lipson midfield.

The Thistles? back four of Tom and Peter Davies, Kyle McLaughlin and Ian Smerdon were magnificent against consistent Lipson attacks.

Thistles started to get into their stride and put pressure on the Lipson keeper. Hard work from the midfield of Chris McCrae, Ben Sharland and Eddie Lowe eventually created the opening for Patrick Johnson to drive home the only goal of the match.
