MID Devon Pony Club members (pictured left) produced a string of great results at the annual inter area tetrathlon competition held at Stockland Lovell last week.

Area 16 girls? teams won all three age groups and Mid Devon had representatives in all three: Sarah and Laura Gomersall in the seniors; Rebecca and Charlotte Rowe in the juniors and Lottie Trerise in the minis.

These successes and those of the Area 16 senior boys shows just how strong tetrathlon is in the South West

There were almost 250 competitors with branch teams from as far afield as Pembroke to the west and Wokingham to the aast and they enjoyed great weather over the two days and a testing cross-country course round Stockland Lovell?s superb jumps.

The junior girls? team of Rebecca, Charlotte, Lydia Svensson and Ellen Bright won their class after some brilliant performances, with Rebecca winning the individual section and Charlotte just behind her in second place.

They had a great tussle in the swimming pool, with Charlie just finishing in front to claim the best swim of the class. Rebecca shot a stunning 980, only to be pipped for best shoot by a competitor who shot a perfect 1000.

Rebecca, Charlotte and Lydia all rode clear round the testing course.

In the senior girls, the Mid Devon team of Laura and Sarah Gomersall and Jess Trerise were just beaten into second place by the New Forest, but Laura came first individually, and Sarah third. Sarah had the best run; Jess the best shoot; and Laura rode a clear round.

In the mini girls, Lottie Trerise put in a wonderful all round performance to finish third individually, and Harriet Bayley put in a great ride to finish with a clear round.
