TEN members of the Mid Devon Pony Club enjoyed two highly successful days competition at the South Devon Moorland's annual tetrathlon at Bovey Tracey, winning prizes in all the age groups. All ten had individual prizes and both Mid Devon teams won their class.
Competition was keen among the senior girls, with entrants wanting to ride the testing Holwell Lawn course before the forthcoming area competition. Mid Devon's Laura Gomersall did fantastically well to win the class with her sister Sarah coming fourth. Sarah had the fastest run over a testing course.
In the junior girls, Vicky Medlyn was riding her first junior course and did well to finish second with a PB shoot while Daniel Worrell continued his fine form winning the mini boys with a staggering 4,444 points. He had the best swim in the class and rode a clear round in the cross-country phase.
The mini girls' team of Scarlett Geering, Lydia Svensson and Ellen Bright won their class with Scarlett having a great competition, finishing first individually, with best run and swim and riding one of only two clear rounds in the class.
Lydia finished second with the best shoot in the class while Ellen finished sixth with a PB shoot and a great PB run.
The novice mini team of Jessica Mortimore, Lucy Almond and Ralph Mizzen were determined not to be outdone by their elders and they all rode brilliantly, winning their class with ease. Jessica came second, Lucy fourth and Ralph fifth with PBs for his run and swim.
