MID Devon Pony Club tetrathletes were out in force at the East Cornwall Triathlon in Liskeard last Saturday, with 15 members representing the club in all three age groups.
The senior girls, Sarah and Laura Gomersall and Jess Trerise, were in top form, coming first, second and third respectively in their class and teaming up with Megan Fell from the Spooners PC to take first team place.
The junior girls, Charlotte Rowe, Lydia Svensson, Lucy Almond and Ellen Bright, had strong opposition and despite a record breaking swim from Charlotte and good shooting scores all round they were just pipped into second team place. Charlotte was the overall winner of the class.
William Leech teamed up with Adam Sandercock (Lamerton PC) to come second in the junior boys? teams and he finished fifth individually with a PB swim.
The mini girls? team of Lottie Trerise, Rosa Malseed and Harriet Bayley, were unbeatable with best shoot for Rosa, best run for Harriet and best swim for Lottie.
She won the class, with Rosa coming third and Harriet sixth.
Newcomers Leah Williams, Martha Bright, Jessica Jeffery and Kim Stanton were the youngest team there, and did brilliantly in a strong class to finish sixth out of the eleven teams, with Kim winning the rosette for the best under 9 competitor.
l Congratulations go to Laura and Sarah Gomersall, who have been selected to represent Great Britain in the European Youth A Pentathlon Championships, to be held in Portugal in April.
