FOLLOWING a successful modern pentathlon season, twins Laura and Sarah Gomersall, of South Zeal, have been selected to represent Great Britain at the Youth A World Championships to be held in Leon, Mexico over the period August 28 to August 31. The girls fly out on August 21 for pre-event altitude training.

Laura and Sarah are ranked two and three respectively at Youth A having moved up an age group this season. This season Laura retained the national triathlon (run, shoot, swim) title she won at Youth B last year while Sarah was second in the national pentathlon (run, shoot, swim, fence, ride) championships, just missing out on retaining her national title from last year.

Laura has represented Great Britain in two European and one World Championship while Sarah made the team for the European Championships this year. This is the first time the sisters have been in the same team for the World Championships.
