YELVERTON and Tavistock Golf Clubs have been selected to hold the prestigious English Men?s Senior Championships from June 7 to 9 2006.

This is recognition of the quality of the courses, and is a major boost for golf in West Devon. Previous clubs to hold the championships have been Copt Heath, Bristol and Clifton, Fulford and Broadstone.

The championships were last held in Devon when Saunton held the event in 1998.

Play will be at both courses during the week, with Yelverton hosting the final round on Friday June 9.
