THERE will be a Service of Remembrance at the War Memorial in Bedford Square, Tavistock, at 11am on Thursday, June 8 to remember and commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Falklands War.

This will coincide with the National Remembrance in London.

Tavistock Town Council has arranged for the part closure of the car park around the war memorial and Reverend Simon Martin will lead the service. The Tavistock Branch of the Royal British Legion will parade their standard and lay a wreath to remember all who fell and those who served – and their families.

There will be a small reception on completion of the service in the Tavy Club.
