THE memorial service for much loved Tavistock College teacher Ewart ‘Hoppy’ Hopkins is to be held on Wednesday, March 14 at the town’s St Eustachius’ Church.

Hoppy’s children Gillian Short and Stewart Hopkins said all his former students and friends from the Tavistock area are welcome to attend — and they are encouraged to wear a small token of yellow.

Gillian said: ‘He was head of house for Glanville, whose colour is yellow, and his favourite colour was yellow so we would encourage everyone to wear a little yellow token.’

The service starts at 12.30pm.
