A NEW headteacher is due to start in September at Lydford Primary School with the personal priority of developing the links between the school and the local community. Linda Wells has visited the school on various occasions since March and found the children to be happy, polite and charming, and the school staff to be well informed and supportive. Mrs Wells said: ?Lydford school is lucky to be in such a beautiful village and I want to make it a personal priority to develop the links between the school and the local community. ?It is essential that both support each other,? she said. ?I strongly feel that the study of local history and geography should become part of our regular curriculum.? She expressed thanks to the current headteacher Gillian Page for all her hard work over the last five years and wishes her well in all her future challenges.
