MONEY raised from a medieval banquet held at Tavistock Town Hall in February was last week presented to Children's Hospice South West.
The cheque for £580.30 was handed over to Denise Bacon, treasurer of the Tavistock Friends of CHSW, by Tavistock mayor Robin Pike.
The banquet was jointly organised by staff of the town council and town hall and well-supported by local businesses and traders from Tavistock Pannier Market.
Cllr Pike said when presenting the cheque to Mrs Bacon that he was delighted with the amount raised and expressed his thanks to the team which organised the banquet.
He said: 'To the team of staff I thank you very much, we all had a fantastic evening and we look forward to many more events.'
Mrs Bacon said: 'We [Friends of CHSW] are so grateful to the people of Tavistock. We thank you all.'
