THE Lions' Club of Tavistock's Christmas draw for children's charities will this year support the Meadows Makeover group.

The main prize this year will be an original painting by Topsham-based marine artist David Chambers donated by Martin Hawkins from the Tavistock Picture Framing Gallery, valued at around £1,000.

Tickets, priced at 25p each, will be available on Dickensian Evening in Tavistock Pannier Market on November 29, in Morrisons on November 30 and December 1, in Bedford Square on December 7 and from the Tavistock Picture Framing Gallery.

Club members are delighted by the continuing support of Martin Hawkins, who has donated limited edition prints for the last few years for the draw, and are grateful to Morrisons for letting them sell tickets at the store.

The Meadows Makeover Group is raising money to improve the play equipment in the park.
